Which country of origin do I put on my GPSR documentation for products I make with your materials?
If you use our blank materials to manufacture a new finished product, such as printing and cutting sticker vinyl into finished stickers, the country of origin will usually be the country where you make that finished product. If you resell our material unchanged, use the origin stated on our documentation.
If you make a new finished product
When you design, print and cut our blank materials into a new finished item, the relevant origin will usually be the country where that manufacturing work takes place. For example, stickers designed, printed and cut in the UK would usually be described as made in the UK.
Country-of-origin rules depend on the exact product and the work carried out, so this should not be treated as a universal rule for every process.
- Finished stickers or bookmarks: usually the country where you manufacture them.
- Minor processing or repackaging may not change the material’s origin.
If you resell our materials unchanged
If you sell Stickiply materials in their original form without turning them into a new product, use the country of origin shown on the invoice or supporting product documentation.
- Do not replace the material’s stated origin simply because you store, package or resell it.
Your GPSR responsibility
Country of origin and your role under the GPSR are related but separate questions. If you manufacture a finished product and sell it under your own business name or brand, you will normally be responsible for the GPSR information for that finished product. A modification made to another product can also make you the manufacturer where it affects the product’s safety.
- Keep records of the materials and processes used.
- Check the requirements that apply to your particular finished product and sales market.
